Contested Commemorations, Royal Historical Association Symposium, Milton Keynes
Royal Historical Society symposium which will be held at the Open University, Milton Keynes, on 17 May 2019: Contested Commemorations: Refections on the Centenary of the First World War, 2013-2019. This symposium will reflect on how the war was commemorated in a range of different countries between 2013 and 2019. The event will include a keynote lecture by Professor Jay Winter, in addition to papers discussing the commemoration and legacy of the First World War in Britain, France, Germany, the Middle East, South Asia, Africa, and in the museum sector.
