Sunrise Patrols by John Edgar deals with Palmer’s memoires of his time in the BSAP from 1926 – 1933. His service on various stations and as a Member in Charge opening the then new Beitbridge Police Station and thereafter Nyamandhlovu. He takes the title of the book from the advice given by the Commissioner at his passout parade, to carry out patrols early in the day for the benefit to the horses (not the troopers).
