  1. Thanks Harry! Another fascinating episode in the history of the King’s African Rifles. The incident at Kasigau reminds me of one night at Gala Camp. We were trying to get some sleep in our tent, despite the constant croaking of an army of bullfrogs in a waterhole at the base of the kopje on which Gala Camp was located. Suddenly the bullfrogs fell silent as we heard the unmistakable sound of a male lion roaring out his territorial claim and challenge to all comers. It sounded as if it was just outside our tent! After an uncomfortable night, we mentioned it at breakfast and asked how close he was. The reply was that he was on Kasigau, some 10kms away!
